About Trustee Armato

MPA.jpgTrustee Michael Armato and his wife Ann, of 46 years, have been residents of Hampshire since November,‚Äč2007. They have two children.  Their son Tim lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota  with his wife Amy and their two sons Owen & Leo.  Their daughter Sue lives in Bixby, Oklahoma with her husband Michael and their son Anthony.

In November of 2015, Michael was appointed to fill an unexpired term, on the Hampshire Board of Trustees and also became the Chair of the Finance Committee.  Prior to that appointment, he served as a member of the Hampshire Zoning Board of Appeals for three years.

In November of 2016, the Village enacted an ordinance creating the Hampshire Business Development Commission.  Michael was appointed, by the trustees, to lead that Commission.  He also currently serves as a commissioner on Carpentersville’s Business Development Commission.

Michael has a vast experience in the business world especially when it comes to manufacturing.  First, he owned and operated a company that manufactured decorative tin cans, from 1965 until the year 2000.  He now owns and operates a sign company, which he started in 2001.

In 1993, Michael began his involvement in community service.  He was appointed, and served for seven years, as member of the newly formed New Century Partnership for Elgin, which was community improvement organization.  During that time Michael also served on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club of Elgin, fund raising chairman for Neighborhood Housing Services of Elgin and as an auditor for The United Way.  Since then, Michael was a charter member and treasurer of the Carpentersville Rotary Club and a member of the Steering Committee for the Fox River Corridor Plan.

Michael sees his future as continuing to be involved in community service, here in Hampshire.  He looks forward to being involved with the controlled and sustainable growth of the Hampshire economy and to provide the residents an improved quality of life and enjoyment of living in Hampshire.
