VILLAGE OF HAMPSHIRE - BOARD OF TRUSTEES Meeting Minutes July 13, 2006
Village President Jeffrey Magnussen called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m Present: George Brust, Karyn Danielson, Martin Ebert, Orris Ruth, Ed Szydlowski. Absent: Jim Taylor Also Present: Village Attorney Mark Schuster, A quorum was established. The Pledge of Allegiance was said. Trustee Szydlowski moved, to approve the minutes of July 6, 2006. Seconded by Karyn Danielson Motion carried by voice vote Ayes: All Nays: None Absent: Taylor VILLAGE PRESIDENT REPORT: Carol Quandt – President of Hampshire Woman’s Club would like to ask if the Woman’s Club may put a box to collect old used phones for Elgin’s Crisis Center. They in turn will take the phones and program them for 911 – emergency calls for all abusive people. Possibly to make people aware of that they are collecting phones put a small message on the water bills. Pass out flyers to the public so they may also be aware. Have Village Attorney Schuster to Draft an Ordinance – Amending the regulations for open burning in the Village. Check out the fire pit to see if its ok for 3x3x3. Village President Magnussen announced Trustee Taylor is not here because his daughter is getting married this weekend. Wish them the best of luck to the newlyweds. PERSONNEL COMMITTEE REPORT: Trustee Brust moved, to table the recommendation for a New Police Officer. Seconded by Karyn Danielson Motion carried by voice vote Ayes: All Nays: None Absent: Taylor VILLAGE CLERK’S REPORT: Trustee Szydlowski moved, to approve Hampshire White Riders Snowmobile Club- Raffle License. Seconded by Orris Ruth Motion carried by voice vote Ayes: All Nays: None Absent: Taylor VILLAGE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT: No Report VILLAGE ATTORNEY REPORT: Village Attorney Schuster will prepare an ordinance for rezoning and special use in Arrowhead Business Park (Supermix) and will be presented to the board August 3rd, Village Board meeting. He also mentioned that there must be four positive votes for passage. VILLAGE ENGINEER REPORT: No report PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE REPORT: No Report WATER/SEWER COMMITTEE REPORT: No report PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE REPORT: Trustee Brust mentioned that he received a report from Clarke Mosquito, the Village has no mosquito’s that have any West Nile Virus. ComEd also will be trimming trees that are near any electric wires in the Village. Trustee Brust passed out to each board member a copy of the ground lease for U.S. Cell. Please look this over for comments that you may have. Village Attorney Schuster is still working with Nicor, Trustee Brust will give all the contact information to Mr. Schuster. VILLAGE SERVICES COMMITTEE REPORT: No report PLANNING/ZONING COMMITTEE REPORT: St. Charles Borromeo presented a concept plan for the location of their new church on Getzelman Road. Trustee Ruth will get together with them and confirm which steps they need to take next. FINANCE COMMITTEE REPORT: No report OTHER BUSINESS: Village President Magnussen announced that on July 19, 2006 Congressman Dennis Hastert’s STAFF will be at the Village 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. to hear citizens comments, issues or complaints. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 7:29 p.m.
